Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy in San Jose, CA

BrainsWay® Deep TMS Offers a Modern Approach to Mental Health Treatment

BrainsWay® Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep TMS) is an advanced form of transcranial magnetic stimulation that uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate brain regions involved in mood regulation and emotional health.

Unlike medications that affect the entire body, Deep TMS works by directly activating underactive neural pathways associated with depression and other qualifying mental health conditions.

BrainsWay® Deep TMS is:

  • FDA-cleared for multiple mental health indications
  • Non-invasive
  • Drug-free
  • Performed entirely in-office
  • Does not require anesthesia or sedation
  • Allows patients to return to normal activities immediately after treatment

For individuals who have not experienced meaningful improvement with antidepressants or psychotherapy, Deep TMS offers an evidence-based treatment option that addresses brain function differently.

Deep TMS Stimulates Brain Networks Associated With Mood Regulation

BrainsWay® utilizes patented H-Coil technology, allowing magnetic stimulation to reach deeper and broader brain networks than traditional TMS systems.

These carefully controlled magnetic pulses stimulate neurons involved in mood regulation and emotional processing, helping restore healthier patterns of brain activity over time.

Deep TMS does not change your personality or memories. Instead, it encourages healthier communication between neural pathways that influence mood, allowing many patients to experience gradual symptom improvement throughout their treatment course.

Because treatment is cumulative, each session builds upon the last to maximize therapeutic benefit.

Personalized Treatment Planning Creates the Foundation for Better Outcomes

No two patients experience mental health conditions in the same way.

Your care begins with a comprehensive consultation where Dr. Sarbani Maitra reviews your symptoms, treatment history, medical background, and personal goals.

This evaluation allows us to develop a customized treatment plan that aligns with your unique needs while ensuring BrainsWay® Deep TMS is an appropriate part of your overall mental health care.

Comfortable In-Office Treatments Fit Into Everyday Life

BrainsWay® Deep TMS treatments are designed to fit seamlessly into your schedule.

During each session:

  • You’ll remain awake and alert.
  • A specialized treatment helmet is comfortably positioned.
  • Gentle magnetic pulses stimulate targeted brain regions.
  • No anesthesia or sedation is required.
  • You can drive yourself home afterward.
  • Most patients immediately return to work, school, or other daily activities.

Treatment is typically performed several times each week over a series of weeks, allowing therapeutic effects to build gradually.

Consistent Treatment Supports Progressive Symptom Improvement

Every patient’s response to Deep TMS is different.

Some individuals begin noticing positive changes within the first few weeks, while others experience gradual improvement throughout the full course of therapy.

Because Deep TMS works by promoting long-term changes in brain activity, consistent attendance is essential for achieving the best possible results.

Throughout treatment, our psychiatric team carefully monitors your progress and adjusts your care whenever appropriate to help optimize outcomes.

Is Deep TMS right for you?

Deep TMS is non-invasive and drug-free — it isn’t a medication and requires no anesthesia or sedation. Side effects are usually mild and temporary, most often brief scalp discomfort or headache around a session; as with all TMS, seizure is a rare risk. Deep TMS isn’t suitable for people with non-removable metal or implanted electronic devices in or near the head. Dr. Maitra will review your history to confirm it’s appropriate for you.
