How do I join a clinical trial?

A Lumos team member will promptly reach out to you to speak to you about your interest in participating in a clinical trial.
We’ll answer any questions you may have and then work with you over the phone itself to conduct a quick confidential questionnaire to ascertain your eligibility for one of our clinical trials.
You will then be pre-qualified for a study and be scheduled for an in-person screening visit at our office. 2 Office Screening Visit During your in-person visit at our office, you will sign a study consent form and begin the process of enrolling in the study. This will involve medical and psychological exams required by the study as well as a detailed walk-through of the study protocols (ie, study procedures and expectations). Your doctor will sit with you to answer any questions or concerns you may have and help coordinate future visits.
Office Screening Visit
During your in-person visit at our office, you will sign a study consent form and begin the process of enrolling in the study. This will involve medical and psychological exams required by the study as well as a detailed walk-through of the study protocols (ie, study procedures and expectations). Your doctor will sit with you to answer any questions or concerns you may have and help coordinate future visits.
You can expect to have continued access to the Lumos Doctors and Medical Professionals throughout your participation in the study as they work to ensure your continued safety and comfort. You will also receive the investigative medical treatment (or device) at no cost and will be compensated for your time and travel.
Shining a Light on Clinical Research
Lumos Clinical Research Center is a medical research facility, located in the Bay area, in close proximity to Good Samaritan Hospital, San Jose CA. We are devoted to conducting studies to test new medications developed by our Sponsors for better and safer ways of treating different medical and psychiatric conditions.
Your participation in clinical research at Lumos enables us to present very useful data to the pharmaceutical companies who then assess the safety and effectiveness of new treatments before submission to the FDA for approval. Without patient participation, no newer and safer drugs would be available to you or your doctor. The process of testing through clinical trials ensures that only effective and safe drugs are approved.
Why participate, or what’s in it for me, you ask?
If you are eligible to participate you will get a detailed assessment, including a physical examination, ECG and blood tests. You may have access to new, cutting edge medical treatments, not yet available to the general public. Your care is supervised and monitored at no cost to you or your insurance company. You are also compensated, at each visit, for your time and travel. Above all, you, become part of an important process in approving or disapproving potentially new medical treatments.
