Why this research matters
Depression studies at Lumos evaluate investigational medications and approaches for people whose symptoms persist despite treatment, as well as those newly seeking help. Because our research arm is part of a working psychiatric clinic, participants are seen by the same clinical team that treats patients every day, not a facility that only does trials.
Is this you?
A study may be worth a conversation if some of this sounds familiar:
Screening is free, confidential and decides nothing by itself. It simply tells you whether a current study fits.
Your path into a study
Common questions
Not necessarily. It depends on the study design. Some studies add an investigational treatment to what you already take; others require a supervised transition. The study team walks through exactly what would change for you, before you decide anything.
Let the screening decide. It's free and there's no obligation. Many studies enroll people with moderate symptoms, and even if no current study fits, the clinic itself can see you as a patient.
Some depression studies include a placebo group and some don't. If one does, you'll be told the odds up front in plain language during informed consent, and you're monitored closely either way, at no cost.
