Why this research matters
Schizophrenia studies at Lumos enroll adults with an established diagnosis, often those troubled by persistent symptoms or by side effects of current antipsychotics, weight gain, sedation, movement effects. Family members are welcome in the conversation; care decisions here are rarely made alone.
Is this you?
A study may be worth a conversation if some of this sounds familiar:
Screening is free, confidential and decides nothing by itself. It simply tells you whether a current study fits.
Your path into a study
Common questions
Yes, and we encourage it. Consent conversations can include anyone you want involved, and consent is revisited over time, not treated as a one-time signature.
Study designs differ, some add to existing treatment, some involve a monitored transition. No change happens before it's fully explained and you've agreed.
Every study is approved and monitored by an independent review board (IRB), with medical oversight at every visit. Participants are typically seen far more often than in routine psychiatric care.
